Giordano LombardoGiordano Lombardo

Global CIO

Joined Pioneer: 2000

Investment experience since 1987

Giordano Lombardo is Global CIO of Pioneer Investments. In this role he is responsible for the global investment function. He is also Chairman of Pioneer Investment Management S.G.R.p.A (Italy) and Pioneer Investment Management Limited (Ireland). In March 2010, he was appointed as the Vice Chairman of Assogestioni, the Italian Association of Fund Managers.

Giordano has more than 25 years of experience in the asset management industry, starting as a financial analyst and portfolio manager. He has been with the UniCredit Group for over 20 years. Prior to assuming his present position he was Deputy CEO of Pioneer Global Asset Management S.p.A.. In addition to his current role, Giordano holds various directorships within the Pioneer Investments group of companies.

Ken Taubes

Executive Vice President, Chief Investment Officer, U.S.

Investment Experience: Since 1983

Ken Taubes is Chief Investment Officer of Pioneer Investment Management, Inc., the U.S. investment division of Pioneer Investments. He is Portfolio Manager of the Core, Core Plus and Multi-Asset Real Return strategies for retail and institutional clients. He also oversees the equity and fixed income portfolio management and research analyst staff in the U.S. and is Chairman of the U.S. Investment Committee and a member of the U.S. Management Committee.

Prior to joining Pioneer Investments in 1998, Ken spent seven years with Putnam Investments in Boston, most recently as Senior Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager for over $15 billion in fixed income assets for more than 30 institutional accounts and 15 open-end mutual funds.

Ken Taubes also served as Senior Vice President and Corporate Treasurer of Home Owners Savings Bank in Boston, New England’s largest thrift holding company and one of the nation’s largest mortgage banks, where he worked from 1986 to 1990. He began his career in 1980 with Bank of New England as a treasury officer in the bank’s international treasury division. He holds a BS in Accounting from Syracuse University’s Utica College (1980) and a MBA from Suffolk University (1985).

Marco Pirondini

Executive Vice President, Head of Equities, U.S.

Joined Pioneer: 1999

Investment Experience: Since 1991

Marco Pirondini is Head of Equities, U.S. for Pioneer Investment Management, Inc., the U.S. investment division of Pioneer Investments. Marco manages Pioneer International Value Fund and Pioneer Global Equity Fund. He also oversees the Fundamental Research Department.

Prior to his current role, Marco held the role of Global Chief Investment Officer with Pioneer Global Asset Management. He also spent five years as Head of Global Equity Research working in the U.S. investment division of Pioneer Investments. Prior to joining Pioneer Investments in 1999, Marco spent eight years with Credito Italiano, working in the asset management division of the retail bank of what is now the Unicredit Group. During his time with Credito Italiano he held the roles of Head of Italian Equities, Portfolio Manager for Italian Equities and Balanced Portfolios.

He received a Degree in Economics and a MBA with a specialization in Finance from Bocconi University, Milan, Italy.

Michael Temple

Senior Vice President, Director of Credit Research, U.S.

Investment Experience: Since 1991

Michael Temple is Senior Vice President of Pioneer Investment Management, Inc., the U.S. investment division of Pioneer Investments, and Director of Credit Research, U.S. He is responsible for oversight of Pioneer’s U.S. credit research department. His duties include independent research of credits, sector analysis, and coordination of research efforts in high yield, bank loan, investment grade, emerging markets and municipal credit. He has been the Portfolio Manager of an institutional “Credit Opportunity” strategy since 2008, and is also a Portfolio Manager of Pioneer Dynamic Credit Fund.

Prior to joining Pioneer in 2002, he was a Portfolio Manager at Boston Partners Asset Management, where he helped manage $1.5B in institutional Core Plus strategies. He was also a Senior Credit Analyst at Putnam Investments, where he was responsible for the analysis of investment grade, high yield and emerging market investments. He was also a Senior Credit Analyst at Duff and Phelps in Chicago, and the Director of Planning and Investor Relations for the Public Service Company of New Mexico. Michael Temple received a BA and MBA from the University of Colorado in 1982 and 1984, respectively.

Sam Wardwell

Senior Vice President, Investment Strategist

Industry Experience: Since 1976

Sam Wardwell and the Investment Strategy Specialist team are responsible for explaining the investment philosophy, process, and performance of investment products and providing updates on overall financial market performance, economic trends and the firm’s economic outlook to clients and their advisors.

Sam’s career has given him direct experience with many of the most important economic developments of the past thirty years. He began his career with Bank of Boston as a commercial lender specializing in transportation companies during the Carter administration’s deregulation of the transportation sector and imposition of credit controls in an attempt to slow inflation. He moved to the bank’s investments division as a fixed income position trader during the years when the Volcker Federal Reserve raised interest rates to unprecedented levels in its successful attack on inflation.

In 1984, Sam joined Fidelity Investments on the fixed income investment side of the business, moving to the equity side and then into a role as a spokesman for Fidelity’s portfolio managers to institutional clients and consultants.

Sam joined Wellington Management Company in 1988. Over the next twelve years, he helped lead the growth of its institutional business, leading product management and institutional client relationship management teams. He also conducted original capital markets research and wrote white papers on topics such as the drivers of equity size and style cycles and the influence of the dot-com stocks on market index returns. Sam joined Pioneer Investments in 2003 from State Street Research where he was Head of Equity Product Management.

Sam graduated from Williams College (with honors) in 1977 with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and English. He received his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 1991.

Paresh J. Upadhyaya

Senior Vice President, Director of Currency Strategy, U.S.

Investment Experience: Since 1994

Paresh J. Upadhyaya is Director of Currency Strategy, U.S. He leads Pioneer Investments’ currency research effort out of Boston and serves as an advisor to the firm’s global fixed-income and equity investment staff on currency-related issues. In addition, he helps lead sovereign credit analysis and advises the investment team on sovereign bond investments. He is a member of Pioneer’s 29-person U.S. fixed income team.

Paresh has 18 years of experience in the investment industry. He joined Pioneer from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he was Director, Senior FX Strategist – Head of North Americas G-10 FX. Prior to BofA Merrill Lynch, he was a Portfolio Manager and member of the currency team at Putnam Investments, where he participated in actively managing $20 billion in currency investments in currency overlay, fixed income, global asset allocation, and international equity portfolios. He has a B.S. in Economics and International Relations from Boston University and an M.B.A. in Finance from Boston College.

Tanguy Le SaoutTanguy Le Saout

Head of European Fixed Income, Executive Vice President

Joined Pioneer: 1999

Investment experience since 1992

Tanguy Le Saout Head of European Fixed Income, where he oversees all European Fixed Income portfolio management as well as European credit research. He is also the Lead Portfolio Manager of several fixed income portfolios.

Prior to this, Tanguy was Head of Government Bonds and VaR Portfolios and later Head of Fixed Income Investment Grade, roles to which he was appointed in 2004 and 2010 respectively. He joined Pioneer Investments in October 1999 from Dresdner in Paris where he worked as an Arbitrageur on Equity Options. Tanguy first joined Dresdner in 1992 as an Arbitrage Researcher. In 1994 he took up the role of Primary Dealer on French Government Bonds. Tanguy has been specialising in Fixed Income and Total Return products since joining Pioneer Investments.

Tanguy is an Engineering graduate in Applied Mathematics from INSA Rouen France. He also has a Masters degree in Finance from ESSEC Paris, France.

David GreeneDavid Greene

Client Portfolio Manager for European Fixed Income

Joined Pioneer Investments: 2012

Investment experience since 1988

Prior to joining Pioneer Investments, David was Managing Director of Conning Asset Management (Europe) Ltd, specialising in insurance asset management and responsible for the management of Conning’s non-US dollar fixed income assets. Before joining Conning, David was a Senior Portfolio Manager at KBC Asset Management Ltd, Ireland’s fourth-largest pension fund management company.

At Pioneer Investments, David is responsible for the euro-domiciled fixed income products and his role involves explaining the investment philosophy, process and performance of the fixed income products, as well as providing updates on overall financial market performance, economic trends and the company’s economic outlook.

David studied at University College Dublin, receiving a Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Business Studies degree.

Diego FranzinDiego Franzin

Head of Equity – Europe

Joined Pioneer: 1998

Investment experience since 1998

Diego Franzin is Head of Equity – Europe. Based in Dublin, he is also responsible for the European Equity Research team. Diego oversees the investment process, research function and management of all portfolios within the European and Thematic Equity universe.

Prior to this, Diego was Head of Global Quantitative Research & Management, responsible for a team of quantitative research analysts dedicated to supporting fundamental research and portfolio managers to generate alpha for equity, credit and fixed income products. This team is also responsible for the management of all our quantitative and disciplined portfolios. Diego was lead portfolio manager of our US Disciplined Value and Growth products.

Diego is a graduate in Economics from the University of Pavia with specialisation in econometrics and statistics. He joined Pioneer Investments in April 1998 as a Quantitative Equity Analyst and became Head of Global Quantitative Equity and Head of US Quantitative Research in 2002 before assuming the role as Head of Global Quantitative Research & Management in April 2008. Diego completed the Harvard Business School PLD5 (Program for Leadership Development) in 2008.

Client Portfolio Manager for European Equity and Commodities

Fiona English is a Client Portfolio Manager with specific responsibility for European Equity and Commodities. She is responsible for communicating the investment philosophy, process and performance of the range of investment products and providing updates on overall market themes to clients and their advisors on behalf of the portfolio management team.

Fiona has over 15 years’ experience in investment management and product research having previously worked for one of the largest stockbroking firms in Ireland as part of the multi-asset fund selection team. During her time there, Fiona was responsible for the analysis and due diligence of funds and investment products across a range of asset classes including equities, fixed income, absolute return products and commodities. Fiona also worked with key clients to advise on and tailor investments for their specific requirements.

Fiona holds a business degree from UCD, Dublin, and is a Registered Stockbroker.

Yerlan SyzdykovYerlan Syzdykov

Head of Emerging Markets – Bond & High Yield

Joined Pioneer: 2000

Investments experience since 1997

Yerlan Syzdykov is Head of Emerging Markets – Bond & High Yield at Pioneer Investments. In this role, he has overall performance responsibility for investment strategies managed by our team of Emerging Markets and High Yield Portfolio Managers.

Yerlan is Lead Portfolio Manager for our Aggregate Emerging Market Debt strategies, including Pioneer Funds – Emerging Markets Bond.

Yerlan has been involved in the managing of our Emerging Market Debt strategies since 2000 and has played a key role in evolving our investment capability in this area over the last 14 years.

Yerlan has worked on emerging markets throughout his career. He joined Pioneer Investments in 2000 from Bancroft in Paris where he had been working as an Investment Analyst. Before this, he was employed by various companies in London and Paris within the emerging markets area.

Yerlan started his career as an Equity Analyst with Renaissance Capital in Moscow upon completion of his MBA in 1997.

Giles BedfordGiles Bedford

Client Portfolio Manager for Emerging Markets

Joined Pioneer: 2012

Investment experience since 1996

Giles is a Client Portfolio Manager with 18 years of experience in the financial services industry and is based in Pioneer Investments’ London office.

Prior to joining Pioneer Investments, Giles was the managing partner of Beltone Financial UK, the European arm of the Egyptian investment bank. Prior to this, Giles was a partner at E2 Research, an independent research boutique. He previously held positions at Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Robert Fleming and ING Barings -all in the field of Emerging Markets .

In 2006, The Financial News named Giles on their first “Rising Stars” list of the 100 most influential people in the city under 40.

Giles was educated at the University of St Andrews and the University of Pennsylvania.
